Not much going on lately... just been driving the car and cleaning it when it needs it. Mainly been working, doing school, and paying off the debt I owe.
Need to get new ball joints soon... also need output shaft seals for the transmission. Tranny is leaking a little bit, really pissing me off. I'm not too worried about it though because i'm replacing the transmission anyway... trying to drive around hoping the fluid level doesn't get too low. If I open the fill bolt, fluid still comes out, so the level must be alright.

I think i'm ditching the head work. I think I will be satisfied with what I will make without the head work. I'm more concerned about getting this project completely finished before the end of summer 2010. Buying new manifold studs for the head right now, and hopefully in a few weeks i'll do the head swap. Just gotta get motivated.

Well fµck, I ran over something and my tire blew up. There goes $100 down the drain. Still don't know what the hell it was that I hit. Must have set a world record for swapping on a spare tire with a scissor jack though.

I found out that Advance Auto Parts sells Perfection OEM-spec flywheels, and cheap, so I'm gonna buy one tomorrow. Also going to buy some ARP Flywheel bolts, and some liquid gasket maker. I might go ahead and buy new output shaft seals too.

why buy a oem flywheel ??? for about the same price you can get a lite weight fly wheel......

You don't want that light of a flywheel for a turbo D-series, you'll fly right through the gears before you get max boost. Plus, you lose a lot of streetability. Also, where the hell are you looking at getting name brand lightweight flywheels for 60 bucks?

i got my flywheel for 125$
putting a lighter flywheel would help in accel, if you go through gears really fast before full boost then get longer gears or a smaller turbo that will spool faster, putting a lighter flywheel will help in the turbo lag til you do hit boost,

lightweight flywheels are not recommended for boost in most street applications
125 is over twice as much as the stock flywheel I am getting
