The runners are long, which prevents backpressure from building within the manifold at higher rpms. Also note it's runners are of equal length. This prevents exhaust pulses from interfering with each other on the way to the turbo. The wastegate placement is also usually good on ramhorns, allowing for more accurate boost control.
Jeff Evans/Full-Race did a comparison of a log manifold vs. full-race's ramhorn. On the exact same setup, the log netted 250whp, while the ramhorn made 300. That's a lot of difference for one mod, eh?

The trick to buying a manifold, is to buy one used. I picked up this bad boy for $400 shipped. In this case, by used I really mean brand new from a private seller. He actually milled all the flanges and cleaned up the manifold with a dremel before selling it to me, it never made it onto his car. Kickass.
