RE: Sov's Build
Ok ok, I only have a couple of pics because I don't have all that much that i'm changing out. I'll have to get pics of the block next time I'm down at my dad's shop.

The longer second gear should cause the turbo to spool sooner, and I'll also reach 70mph (or whatever it redlines at exactly) faster. I don't really expect to get any kind of traction until 3rd on the street anyway.[8D]

As for porting, I agree. The Z6 head seems to do well in stock form, much like the open B16 head on B series. You just need to get the right cam.

RE: Sov's Build
Last night I ordered the Eagle rods, and I also sent the 1.033 4th gear out to a local guy in Ohio for some modification to make it fit in the EX tranny. He will be sending back the gear with a 2nd gear synchro so that I have one when I go in as I'm pretty sure mine is bad.
Still waiting for pistons to come off backorder, as soon as they come in I just need to order the rest of the OEM stuff and I can start building the engine.

This is going to be super sweet. However, I think you should have looked into the eagle a little more. I almost bought eagles myself until i found numerous comlaints about piston slapping.

RE: Sov's Build
To my knowledge, improperly clearanced pistons cause piston slapping, not rods. I guess they maybe could if they were offset, but I'd imagine you'd have several other worse problems at that point.
I have heard of numerous accounts of Eagles spinning rod bearings, however. (Which is why I will probably buy Crower.)
