The best advice I could give you is do exactly that, run it as it is, get some experience and get to know the car and tune in your driving. Only mod I'll highly suggest is a good set of tires. I do suggest keeping an eye on the Blox LCA's. If they aren't already rotting out, the more you AutoX on them, the faster they will crack, bind, and give out.

Just some info on classing, if you're running the stock motor in SCCA, you'll be in Street Touring(the LCA's, springs and any other minor mod throws you there). Anything done to the motor and if it's not original(IE: even a D16Z6 in there), will bump you to Street Modified.

I am looking for some lighter wheels that don't look so gay. Planning on staying 16 inch or smaller. I will probably be picking your brain quite a bit for this build. The LCA's have poly bushings in them, I have yet to see a set of poly bushings wear out. Unless you are talking about the aluminum stress cracking, if that is the case I will go get something else right now.

So I was up at the garage last night and I was mistaken its a D15B8 not a B2, not that it should make a lot of difference.

Here is the Y8

Sorry for the slow updates, I'm going as fast as progress will let me.

Got up to the garage again today and mess around a little between beers. I got the Y8 pulled apart and got some stuff ready to go to powder.

Pile of suspension crap to powder.

Pile of stuff to clean/inspect/assemble (d15 block, y8 head, ect.)

Checking head studs for length. (Had the Y8 bolts in there and they feel a little short to me, input on this would be appreciated.)

Y8 bottom end (for sale, make offer, spun bearing on #3)

Couple questions, obviously I am unsure of what head bolts to use as the Y8 bolts seem a little short (a couple felt long enough, but not all.) Is there any advantage to using the Y8 oil pump other than making it so I can use the Y8 oil pan? (I know I need to block off the dipstick hole.)

Thanks
-Oliver

Thinking about entering my car in this http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/2010-challenge/

It will give me more motivation to finish it.

Thoughts?

Go for it. You just better have that car well prepped and you're driving up to par for it to be even close to competitive. These types of challenges are tough, lots of times your against people with deep pockets and years of experience..

I don't expect to be competitive, I just want an excuse to take a weekend off and meet some new people.

Afret a long dry spell I got some new goodies to play with. I went back to Maine for the weekend and pulled some stuff off my parts car. I need to grab the front sway bar and front lower control arms next trip, I ran out of room.
