I feel for you brother. That damn heater fan is the pits.
Removing your ECU cover can give you a little bit more room.
What I did, after getting as pissed off as you, was great. I took off the glove box. Behind which you can see the intake for the heater fan. I cut those damn squares out. All of them. This allowing me to get a size 10 < i think > on the bolt ontop of the heater fan itself. Un did the bolt and was able to get the blower motor out of the bottom much easier. Put the new one in, fought for a minute to put the fan and what not on the motor correctly. Worked for me.

^ i sh!ttily cut the squares out. cut my hand to ribbons while i was trying to put the square/ round peg in the round/square hole. cant get fan shaft lined up correctly with the hole in the fan. im soooo close. thats why im so frustrated. spent 1h15m trying to get the two mated. finally ddt'd my garbage can while screaming bloody murder at the top of my lungs. now the neighbors think i have a demon. or impacted bowels. thx for the advice tho man. just gonna keep at it monday. getting close to being super roadworthy. finally...

just noticed i have some tiny *** rear calipers. need big brake upgrade! that heater blower was a bitch. my grandad took a 3 sided file to the hole in the plastic fan and made some relief so it didnt fit so damned tightly. wedged the motor in place thru the little cooling duct on the side with a popsicle stick. no more shaft play, and easier fit. went on in seconds. shocks are no biggy. didnt even use any directions, pretty self explanatory. gotta break out the MIG welder tomorrow and do work son. flat white paintjob is getting awfully close. thinking of flat black slips (mugen copies cuz i soo poor!) to go with my flat black trim. gonna brake out the sharpie on the hood after i paint it for *****. i love doodles. prob gonna gloss white the valve cover for now. who knows. im cheap, resourceful, have the technology, and dont give a *** if u like the way the car looks! opinions are welcome though, of course, and i will reply in a civil manner. unless it is a ghey opinion... Brent is excited his sexxy rexxy is gonna be hittin' vtak y0! soon!!!
