Quick update before i go to work, junkyard run was successful! Got almost everything i needed and now im just cleaning all that stuff up now. Pistons and rods came in wednesday evening they were VERY clean for being used, also NPR piston rings should be here today. Yesterday i ordered my rear main housing, oil pump seal, oil pan gasket, and bearings from acura which should be at my work tomorrow. I ended up needing 2 yellows 1 pink and 1 green bearing. Today ill be picking up an older acura manual for torque specs, piston ring gapping, and plastigauge specs as well as some pics tonight. The block should hopefully be done this weekend and im currently on the look out for either a gsr head or a b16a2 head!

Update time yay! bad news first - bearings and stuff wont be here til tuesday since they had to get them ordered from some warehouse far away. and thats the bad news lol, now today was awesome, i was lookin on craigslist and found a guy selling a gsr head and tranny. I picked up the head for 180 bucks!! he was asking 400 for it and when i got there he told me he'd take 300 and then he bought infinity door speakers from me for 20 bucks and his dad bought a cd deck from me for 100, so i totally got hooked up today, he was a cool dude too. Anyways i told him i was gonna hold off on the tranny for now, i told him around the 15th id hit him up when i get paid again and see if he's still got it. But im thinking i might just buy it tomorrow he wants 300 for the tranny and hes throwing in a stock gsr flywheel 6 puck clutch a starter and the halfshaft for it, in other words ill have everything i need for the tranny for 300 bucks.

On my way home today i stopped at checker and picked up 2 more cans of brake cleaner and a can of engine degreaser as well as a manual for integras 94-00. Yesterday evening i finished gapping my piston rings, since im boosting next year i went slightly bigger than factory specs, the specs are as follows...
1st 2nd 1st oil 2nd oil
.016 .020 .020 .020
After gapping my rings i went ahead and installed my pistons and rods. Also when i got home today i pull the intake mani from the head and tore the head down for cleaning. I cleaned the fuel rail and injectors up, got the inside of the runners cleaned, cleaned the outside of the mani and throttle body. Then on the head i did a bit of self machining work i am quite proud of i might say lol. I plugged the oil hole on the head for the vtec, what i did was cut the head off of a small bolt i had, drilled the oil hole on the head a little bit bigger then tapped it with the same thread size as the bolt. The loctited the bolt in and used my dremel to shave it down to be flush with the head. And then for the VC i wire brushed all the red off and painted it bronze, i think it'll look sexy since my car is green and the rims are bronze, the bronze VC will just add to the sexiness lol. Anyways here is a ton of pics for everyone, Enjoy =)

Quick update for everyone, I took my head to a machine shop right by my work on tuesday and had the dowel pin holes moved to the intake side of the head, the guy did an awesome job and only charged me 15 per hole. Then today my seals, gasket, and bearings came in from acura. I got home and started plastiguaging all the bearings and when i had the bearings in and nuts torqued down the rod would move around ALOT. So this was very upsetting, after this my buddy and i pulled the crank and checked out the main journal bearings. On the bottom it had the brand of course, part number, and then it said .5 on it. So we took the crank inside and i measured all main journals and all the rod journals, here are the measurements i got both spec and actual. (all in mm btw)

Rod l Main
Actual Spec l Actual Spec
44.48 44.97 l 54.48 54.97
44.49 l 54.48
44.49 l 54.48
44.47 l 54.48
54.48

So as you can see the journals compared to spec are about .5mm small. After doing this we figured out the .5 on the back of the main bearings means they are .5mm oversized. Seeing as how i already plastiguaged the main journals and everything is within spec, i will be getting my money back from acura for the bearings and ordering some .5mm oversized ACL rod bearings. So now after those i can hopefully finish up this block and i will be getting a GSR water pump and timing belt as well as an OEM LS head gasket from acura and once those get in the head will be goin onto the block and put back together. Also ill put up some pics tomorrow of my VC.

You were nominated for ROTM. You should hit up the ROTM section to either accept or decline.

Thanks for lettin me know that hobo! Quick update, picked up a 99 si water pump, i returned and got refunded for the bearings from acura and ordered some .5mm oversized rod bearings. Also i have been doing a DIY port/polish on my head, cleaned up the outside as well. Monday i will be ordering my LS head gasket and a GSR timing belt, Once i get all this stuff in the block will be finished getting put together and the head will be going on, then come the 15th i will be ordering an ls/vtec kit as well as picking up a gsr tranny (complete) and maybe if i have enough money left ill be buying an OBD2 P72 GSR ECU from a guy i work with. After this shall be the removal of my current motor and the installation of the ls/vtack yo!!!

I get a huge discount, like the si water pump i bought yesterday cost me 66$, to a customer that would have been like 120$ they told me. But anyways over the past few days i have been doing a little Port and Polish to the exhaust side of the head. Here are some pics of that as well as the finished product of my VC! And ps...expect the swap to be going in at the end of the month!!

Mmm this is going to be nice when it is done. I get a pretty good discount at work too on anything, just as long as I order it through my dealer they'll get whatever.
