Default Alpha's '93 Civic Project

Alright. I have in my possession a single (previous) owner 1993 Honda Civic EX manual transmission. 188,000 miles on the car when I purchased it May 19, 2010. Some body rust. A few minor parts replaced over the car's life-time. Non-stock stereo and speakers. I won't bother listing ALL the specs., but I do have the original dealer "window sticker" so if anyone wants to know just ask. What I want to accomplish is:

Complete Body Restoration (with changes)
Complete Interior Restoration (with changes)
New Wheels
New Tires
New Exhaust System
Engine Replacement (in a couple thousand miles)
Instrument Panel Replacement
Wheel Replacement
Shift-**** Replacement
...and other minor changes to the car. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted with updates as I work on the car and photos.

I paid $1,100... But even if I wasn't going to dump money into the car, I needed a second car anyway.

So you're suggestion is that I not even bother trying to change the panels, get rims, change the seats, clean the engine bay and other various things to restore the car?

Well if its just your secondary car theres no point right? Are u wanting it as your project or ur work car that u use to go to work and back? If you want it to become your project vehicle that you can fix up and take to meets, shows, etc and take pride in then yea otherwise if your just gonna use it for work or whatever then i say leave her be. Maybe clean the engine bay for sure cause thats just pitiful lol Im not trying to be a d!ck, im really not...im just saying if its your daily driver, and not even your primary dd, then either use it as your project (and do all the "restoring" like ur wanting) or leave it alone (besides the maintenance stuff like i said before).

Alright. I guess I'll have to give it some thought then. Other than this car, I own a '98 Chrysler Cirrus and that's my wife's everyday primary car. So I guess this would be my to and from work and running errands car.

Ah...well then thats kinda different then. Its up to you, if you could find a donor car that had a good body id do that or just go to a local pic and pull junk yard if they have them up in Michigan clean the engine bay tho. Shes supa dirty haha

get some simple green in that engine bay, some armor all on the dash, and a paint job and it will look good as new, well assuming that you get the body work done as well

We definately have the pick'n'pull yards up here. I use then quite often. The engine bay'll probably be the last thing I do. I'll probably wait until I decide to change/upgrade the engine (currently at 190k miles) to clean it. They body work I can do myself. Well, at least changing the panels, doors, hood and bumpers. I'll have to have somebody else do the cutting and welding of the side-panels though.
