Window Malfunction!

Window Malfunction!
Okay, so my window constanstly decides it either does or doesnt want to work. Like today, it went down fine, but when I got to work...didnt want to go up. My friend at work said it could be that the motor is just ditry and isnt making connection with something or other. So tonight im going to take my door apart and mess with that. Any advice on how to clean that junk off and if you think it could be something else?

try some white lithium grease in the window tracks first. When you have the door apart hit the switch and listen for the motor to hum. If it doesnt hum, then test the wires at the motor for power. If the motor has power and doesnt hum when you hit the switch, then replace the motor. If it doesnt have power when you hit the switch then test for power at the switch (remember window switches use reverse politry) if nothing at the switch then its most likely a bad window switch.

Before pulling the door panel OFF, roll the window all the way down and then spray some Silicone lubricant into both rubber channels in which the sides of the window slide. The lubricant will spread along the entire length of each window channel by gravity. Then roll the window up and down several times. You are likely to notice an instant improvement.
