I know you guys are probably tired of this question but im getting a 86 civic si 5 speed hatch back and was wondering what engine it has in it i googled it but cant find anything definitive thanks for the help

anyway, to find out for sure, your engine code should be stamped on the engine, to the left of the exhaust manifold and directly to the right of the transmission on a small square flat spot on the engine.

 

thats what i came up with too i just didnt know they were the same motor i would have checked the stamp but i'm not picking it up tell monday thanks for the help

 

ok i got the car now and it says programmed fuel injection 12v the d15a3 is a 8 valve i cant see the stamp on the block its covered in buildup so now im lost again thanks for the help
