Isnt the redline only 6800? That is a little high then.

I could never hear the vtec with the civic 07 lxbut I been driving a prelude 99 and you can hear it at 5000. Its awesome.

iVTEC & VTEC aren't exactly the same thing. The implementation in the 06+ Civics (R18) is similar to my wife's CR-V. On in the low range, off in the high range. It's designed for better fuel economy and power at lower engine speeds, where it's important in day to day driving. 06+ Si's have true VTEC, and has a noticeable crossover. Off in low range, on in high range of rpm, designed for increased power at spirited driving speeds.

my buddy has a y8, his vtec is at 5500, and they rev out between 6800 and 7000, you may have a problem with something
