Arrow A trip to baja

so as i previously wrote about me venturing to mexico for a mani/cat for my car turns out i had no luck. my pops and i actually came across a DX cat/mani but they were selling it for $250.! and the thing was so rusted, shoot it wasnt even worth $100 i thought.

Anyways, we found another junkyard and i came across a 99 civic ex (from what the owner of the junkyard told me it showed up that morning, and at 2 in the afternoon engine/interior/trunk/tires was completely gutted) and the only thing i managed to scrape was the EX cluster.! haha i was so amped to finally be able to have RPMS displayed, lol.

Man do i write alot, anyways thanks for readin guys haha.

While you were there I hope you picked up TWO 30LB R12 cylinders for me (they are worth ~$1000 each in the US since none has been manufactured in the US since 12/31/1996).

Um... R12 is freon if I'm not mistaken; no vehicle would have two 30lb cylinders in it unless its like a freezer truck or something.

A 30LB R12 cylinder looks like a gas grill propane tank (white). 30LBS is enough to recharge the A/C on about 10-12 pre 1994 cars. R12 is like gold right now, because people with older vehicles don't want to spend the $$ retrofitting their R12 system to R134a (grey cylinder). Any ma & pa auto shop will pay $$ for a 30LB cylinder of R12. They go for $995 at parts stores (vs $80 for 30LB of 134a), so you can't ask that much, but I think you could get $600 or so per cylinder. R12 isn't banned in Mexico, so you can get a 30LB cylinder there for less then $100 (which is why I brought up the subject in the first place).
