I have to replace my 1.6L 1590CC L4 FI VIN: D16Y5 – SOHC, a friend has a 2.3 v-tec out of a 99 accord, does anyone know if it will fit into my 1988 Honds Civic?

I believe it'll fit, but I don't know if anyone makes mounts for it. If not, you could always look for a d16; z6's and y8's from 92-00 EX's can usually be found for around $300 used, and should work with the transmission you have now.

*ninja edit: you said a y5 and an '88 civic? Was it swapped in or do you mean a '98 civic?

It would definately be easier to swap in a different Civic motor. I'm sure it could be done, but if you can't do the fab work yourself the cost is going to make it not worth while.
