Default research paper

okay im doin an 8 page research paper for school and it is on the quality of american cars vs. the quality of japanese made cars. I was wondering if you all new any websites that showed, or told about how either jap cas or american cars are made? or if you new anywebsites that have details on japenese or american cars.

umm www.wikipedia.org is pretty sweet for that stuff. sometimes profs dont like that being used because they feel that since anyone can edit it, that it isnt true. while i would have agreed with that a year or two ago, wikipedia has made it a rule that if someome posts an edit, then before it can be put on the site, the information has to be verified. Just ask ur teacher or prof what they prefer

Base the entire paper on that fact that you can take a 90% of a civic apart with s 10mm wrench. The same cannot be said for any American designed car. LOL I don't know how you would stretch it for 8 pages, but its a starting point.

For hard info try : repair manuals, manufacturer websites, consumer reports (or something like it). Other than that stuff, I don't really know of anything better.

you can always point out that a 25k s2000 puts down over a 123hp per liter compared to 250k ferrari that hangs around 90 hp per liter, sad. As far as websites go, just google the hell out of stuff, or search other forums.

That would be an interesting paper. Just make sure to mention that American cars were of very high quality (for their time)a few times in there history. GM's in the 50's and 60's. Conversly you could do a scathing section about American cars in the 80's and early 90's, especially Chryslers.

A good way to add some meat to the paper would probably be to find design features in certain cars that make them better or worse by design.

i would like to read it too. you can also point out that japanese cars last a whole lot longer than american cars if they are maintained correctly, and are incredibly reliable. they are also a lot more fuel efficient ..

you should also add the fact that with a civic with 200,000 km you can still giver and have tons of power unlike an american car

you can throw in the Overhead idea vs say the pushrod design, not sure who made what but it might be worth looking into
