I'm not that big a fan of the xB rims either. (ha, I saw that ad on CL too.) If you need tires NOW, that swap will hold you off for a bit. But it's a sideways move, not an upward move.

Hey, which tire shop are you hitting up? I've always just gone to Goodyear on Cantrell. They sometimes treat you like you're an idiot if you ask questions, so I'm looking for other good shops.

I have called 4-5 shops looking for 205/40/17, about the same 80 per tire bought/mount/balanced. With shipping Tire Rack as about the same but then paying locally for the mount and balance made it about the same. I did find some better deals on eBay, even with shipping.

Call and found some steelies with newish tires for $160, if I can talk them down that might be my route for the time being as the search for HX wheels continues.

hit the pinknpull place today, nothing, even steelies were junk. i did get a "H" emblem for the hatch, keep the rain out. Since I struck out at the yards and the Xb tires are wrong I think I will just go get the steelies with new tires for $150 and rock those with some caps until I find something I like. Its the cheapest, safe thing to do.

Ok, got the 17s off and rolling on some stock 14" steelies. On the last wheel the "tool" for the lugs gave out so the tire shop down the street hammed on an impact socket and got them off, thanks. The kid at the store wants to buy my 17s, bald tires and curb rash. Not sure what to ask, was thinking $175 to cover my stock 14s, anyone thing that is too much or too little?

Thanks

discount tire is better than tire rack. free shipping, free balance and tire mount.

I think the Xb wheels would look better on your car.
