A header is a Manifold so I dont understand your question. It will increase your performance, it will increase your MPG and it wont wear on your engine any more than stock... other than the fact that you might feel the need to be heavy on the gas more often. Help any? I dont really understand what you are asking either??

I'll give it a shot at the question. " What is the difference between an aftermarket header and your stock manifold? The differences I'd like to know is the difference between gasmileage, performance, and engine wear." I think that's what is being asked.

1. the difference is the pipes ,opening and the way there madeare bigger and better toallow more air to move out factor header opening are usually smaller.
2. u may or may not get better gas mileage it all depends on how u drive. i think i gotten better gas milage, but thats just me it could be all in my head
3. perfermance is, it much better than stock. u get 3-4 extra hp it looks much better than ur factory header and there

^^ what did you just say?? Wow I have a headache now trying to read that... honestly, try looking at what you typed before pressing OK.

Headers are designed to flow exhaust gas more efficiently by changing the lengths and diameters of the piping.

$300-$350 is average for a good header. Jou can find some on Ebay for less than $100 also. If you plan to do an intake and exhaust along with your header then the cheapo one will do the job. If you seriously plan to put money into your car then skip the cheapo stuff and go straight for a name brand header. You get what you pay for...

If you know how to use a socket wrench then its a DIY job... very basic. Most performance shops will charger over $100/hr for labor
