Help me lower my 60 foot time!!
I have an '07 Si coupe. At the strip I have run a best of 15.40 in my limited time racing the car. That time sucks, especially considering the 92 mph trap speed. I need to improve my 2.4 second 60 foot time. I've tried a couple of different methods, but in all my years of drag racing, I have no experience getting a FWD car to hook. I know the standard all season tires are not helping. Anyone have a good technique?

Get tarmac tires. All-Season tires are for people that want one tire that marginally sucks in all weather.
Strip out anything behind the driver's seat, so the COG is shifted forward.
Clutch?
Front wheel drive cars roll out slow, weight comes off the front wheels when you accelerate, so you lose grip.
Therefore, your 60ft. time is going to suck anyways. Your advantage is after your car grips up.
The Honda is very light and can take off like a rocket once that happens. But you need more power.

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I need to upgrade to better tires. Car and Driver got a 15.0 with the optional performance tires. I guess I was trying to match their e.t. I know an aquaintance of Csaba Csere who does most of the dragstrip testing at C&D, and he's a great driver. I doubt he rides the clutch out of the hole, so it must be the tires. As far as stripping out the interior, my kids might like riding on the floor, but the cops would frown upon that. After my all seasons wear out, I'll get some Yokohama Parada Spec 2s. They're cheap, and bite real hard.
