I guess if you could actually buy one like every other car , I mean at least test drive the thing for awhile I d pick the SI, but I refuse to dick around with the stealerships just to buy an over hyped civic. I mean THOUSANDS over invoice and ive heard horror stories of some insane markups. For the sake of argument Ill pick the VW.

thats not all true. there are some dealers that sell at invoice. and the part about being overhyped, i mean really. the 7th gen civic si was characterized as underpowered and full of problems. people made fun of it and said that the civic would never be the civic of old. the new civic addressed these problems and honda did a great job with the new gen. everybody wants it cause it is such a great car. and no offense to the other cars in the line up but come on, you have to canvas around and search for the best dealership and the deals that they provide.

I gotta tell you: The VW will break down and need dealer repairs ten times in the first year (Consumer Reports); I've drivent he Mazda 3, nice but ho-hum; I've driven the Scion TC, fun, but a Camry at heart; I've not driven the Cobalt, but have you looked at one up close? We used to make nicer things in metal shop; the Civic Si--which I have not driven--is beautifully put together and looks like it has the guts to be beautiful to drive.

Hey, I dumped a MINI Cooper S Works--a totally insane ride, let me tell you. I'd just go with the Si, reliability and THAT REALLY HIGH REDLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
