Default Gas Stations

What gas stations do you guys usually fill up at? I usually fill up at Arco, just because it is the cheapest stuff around here. I was thinking of trying some "high quality" gas stations such as shell or chevron as it is supposedly better quality. Is there really any difference in the quality of gas between the cheap stuff and the "quality" stuff?

i dont think it makes thatmuch of a difference... i have usedshell, cheveron, 76, mobile, arco, and costco gas and IMO i think 76 is the best just because it seems like i get more miles to a gallon... btw arco isn't always the cheapest... I've seen cheveron cheaper than arco sometimes.

There really isnt much difference...all the gas comes from like a total of 2 places...then certain brands have their own addative (ie: chevron w/techron) I personally go based on customer service as the prices dont vary enough to feel much difference on size of tank the civics have. I dont really think I've noticed a difference in milage between the different places.

Not entirely true, most "cheap" gas stations contain 10% ethonol which can cause wear on your injectors and other components (so I've read). I only fill up at shell, or other places that don't contain ethonol.

As some of you here know, I keep a detailed log of all gas puchases. I have an '06 LX manual 4Dr. The last ten tanks are as follows:
[ul][*]8/02/07381 miles on 10.486 gallons for 36.3 MPG[*]8/08/07369 miles on 9.940 gallons for 37.1 MPG[*]8/13/07 394 miles on 10.505 gallons for 37.5 MPG[*]8/23/07 411 miles on 10.837 gallons for 37.9 MPG[*]8/30/07 443 miles on 10.837 gallons for 40.5 MPG[*]9/03/07 424miles on 11.212 gallons for 37.8 MPG[*]9/16/07 386 miles on 10.709 gallons for 36.0 MPG[*]9/24/07 367 miles on 9.554 gallons for 38.5 MPG[*]10/26/07 367 miles on 10.361 gallons for 35.4 MPG[*]11/04/07 377 miles on 9.957 gallons for 37.9MPG[/ul]
I buy gas from the cheapest station from wherever I am when I need gas. As you can see the mileage doesn't vary too much no matter what gas I use or how I drive. Most tanks are split between city/highway driving. My personal preference is Citgo to support Chavez, who was the first to get gas to New Orleans after Katrina.

Yea, the cheapest is the one I pick. Using regular gas is the best if that is what it calls for in the manual.

I had aGMC truckonce where I used premium in it all the time when it should have had regular. I never noticed any power gain or other benefit. I drove it over 230,000 miles and the only fuel related problem was the one of the EGR passages in the intake manifold was clogged with carbon and didn't pass smog.

My 06 Civic Coupe gets about 36 - 39 mpg on a regular basis with the cheapest regular gas.

Drive safe
