Drain plug strip....

Default Drain plug strip....

So i did an oil change today on a 2003 mazda mpv at work that jiffy lube did last and when i pulled the drainpulg i got this....

im glad i do my own oil changes so i can blame myself.

dang..... to do it right.... a new oil pan....

or for budget quick fix ya got 2 options... one.... try one of those rubber clamp type bolt plugs... or go buy some TAPs and make new treads for a slightly larger bolt and get a bolt that will fit the threads and no longer than your factory drain bolt.(you dont want it to hit any internals.)

or another TEMP fix just to hold you over for the next 3K miles until you have time to replace the oil pan..... some JBweld putty, mix the stuff very good and smash it into the hole, and then smash the rest around the bolts threads and push the bolt back into the oil pan and tape it up onto the oil pan while it dries... wait an hour and then refill the oil and start looking for another oil pan!

hahah...it was at work so my manager told me to put oversized plug in but i told him i wasnt going to do that...the only thing i was willing to sign off on is replacing the oil pan. I wasn't about to do a quick fix then something go wrong then i lose my job...lol

o so it wasnt on your car or a friends car.......

o ok my bad i thought it was ur car.
i bet the owner was pissed.... so much for a quick oil change.lol

she took it real mellow actually i was suprised...lol first we said she needed an alignment...then came back told her she front rotors and pads and then go back and tell her she needs a new oil pan cause jiffy lube muffed hers up... : P
