Default D16Y8 Build up?

Ive been wanting to do an engine swap (either B16 or B18), but i have been talking to some people on montgomery (a street people race on) and there is some guys with some wicked D16Y8 motors, i was amazed at how wicked some of those cars are! I know there is stuff that can be done to that motor but some of these guys are blowing some sick cars of the road. So iwas thinking about running a greddy turbo kit, Would i have to rebuild my motor, of course i would replace the stock fuel system, inercooler, blow off valve, and what else would be a good idea to replace to help protect the motor. How much would i be looking at for a good turbo with all the stuff i named above, thanks for any info.

i have learned its good to sleeve the block and get forged pistions and new rods. other than that its all about tuning.

How much does it cost to build a motor to handle boost? Part of me isnt sure whether i should swap the engine or just have fun with the one i have. I had to get emisions done to my car and the dealer ship i did it from was going to do it for free so i went there and i got to look at the new Si, man is that a sweet car, but im thinking that when this one goes belly up ill get a new Si. If i do turbo it i wouldnt go over 6 lbs of boost after all of the fine tunning, just enough boost to give my car some bigger *****.

the d16y8 can take about 7-8 psi on good gas and a good tune stock internals, which can be anywhere form 200-230 hp, and still be pretty reliable. but if you have the means, sleeve it and add strong rods, and forged pistons with a lower compression. get some arp rod and head bolts, and convert to obd 1 and run a p28 ecu and get that tuned with hondata, chrome, uberdata (whichever you feel most comfortable with) then hit the TRACK to race people. if you build it like that you can use way more than 6 psi boost so it will realy have *****
