Default Child seat + Coupe

Hey,

I'm about to get a new car but my wife and I are disagreeing on one topic, the number of doors. She feels since we might start a family sometime in the future that I should get something with four doors. I want a coupe. Does anyone have any expecerience with a child seat in a coupe?

I know a sedan is an obvious choice in this situation but if its possible I want to get a coupe. I might have to comprimise.

Thanks

I have a coupe & my niece is still ina car seat...

I'll tell you right now if you put a car seat in the coupe it better stay there forever!!! Taking them in and out are a PITA also whichever seat it goes behind isnt really going to have alot of leg room up front especially if it is one of the rear facing car seats for a new born.

if your going for looks and want to customize it, i would get a 4 door. its not as common but look 10x better. look at wellfedhobo's car for an example. its one of the nicest, cleanest 4-doors i have ever seen.

^Yes, my car is pretty clean and child friendly.

But yeah, coupes are a little tough on child seats. That Honda Fit that you currently have is great for kids. But if you wanted to go for the family transporter, Sedan is the way to go. I kinda like the current sedans. The tail end isn't the greatest but it gets you from A to B.

Were you wanting to go with the coupe for the Si trim level? Because they also make an Si sedan.

i have 2 kids, and i have sedans, coupes, hatches on a coupe/hatch you have to flip seat forward to buckle them up, and in a sedan you have to open a door.... so its prety much the same crap something has to be moved to get the child in the car.

It also depends on what child seat you use, some are easier than others to feed the seatbelt through. I got a Recaro and never complained about putting it in and yanking out of my coupe.

I sold my coupe and purchased a sedan when we were expecting a kid. When the kid was born I was slapping myself cause the seat would have been just fine in a coupe.
