Default Can't decide : Older Black Civic vs Younger Silver Civic

Hi all,

I'm thinking about buying my first Civic, I can't decide whether to buy a Black Civic 2001 with 75,000 miles on the clock, or a 2003 Silver Civic with 60,000 miles on the clock. The only difference in price is £500 ($1000) more for the Silver one, so the price isn't really a factor considering it's a younger Civic.

They're both in great condition, and although I really wanted my first Civic to be black as I wanted to put a standard spoiler on it and nice alloys and think they'd look better on a black car, but the silver one is a bargain really being so much newer for only a small price increase.

Please help me decide !

If you plan on daily driving it with minimal mods, go for the "younger" one.

However, if you want to mod the motor for bigger numbers, I wouldnt go with either of them. The d17 is like the redheaded step child of Honda motors..

unless of course you're referring to the Si model, in which case I would revert back to my first sentence

Hi, thanks for the response.

The younger one is this one : the "1.4i e"

I'd like to lightly body mod it, i.e. new alloys and maybe a stock spoiler of some sort, and maybe some skirts at some point, but I dont want to do anything to the engine. The most I'd modify it apart from appearance mods would be a better panel filter and possibly exhaust at some point.

id presonaly go for the black one, colour isnt really a massive factor when i buy a car, but black is my fav. colour for a car, and silver is my least fav. do both cars have the same options? elec windows, power steering etc? maybe that could help you decide

Nah they're both from dealers, so I havn't met either of the owners, there are 2 owners of the Black 2001 one, and 1 owner of the Silver 2003 one.

Its really up to what you want. Whatever choice you get your gonna be happy. But if you like the black one, then go ahead and get the black one
