Default Aux for streaming music

I currently have a 2003 Accord and have the aux set up so I can plug my phone in with a headphone jack and listen to Pandora streaming.

I see on the new Civic's, they have a USB port where I can plug in my phone and it'll read the memory card and play music. The button on the stereo says "AUX", and not usb specifically, any chance this means there is an aux input similar to my Accord where I can plug in and stream music from my phone?

Thanks in advance.

on my dad's pioneer deck it has the plug to hook up a aux cable on the back of the stereo. and you hoook up a extension cord and use it from there.
but his also has the usb cable runnin from the back to his ipod.

i think it should be able to read the music off anything that goes in the usb.
like a flash memmory.. ipod... mp3 player.
well at least my friends does. im not sure about yours.

but your talking about a stock stereo huh?

Thanks DaOne. Yes, I'm referring to the stock stereo. I would expect the USB to only know how to read stuff off the memory card, and play it on it's own. I'm hoping there's a way for my phone to play the music (streaming from Pandora) and have it go through the Honda speakers.

Sounds like your Dad's stereo is similar to the setup I have in my Accord. I used it initially for XM, but then started just plugging the jack into other things, like my wife's iPod or my phone.

Your welcome.
you can always get the FM transmitters and hook it up to anything with a headphone jack on it. but the sound quality isint all that great (sounds like a radio station)
i used to use that till i saved up for my deck lol.

FYI - I test drove a 2010 civic today, and along with the USB, there is a mini headphone jack for the aux on the center stack, although nicely placed, low and out of the way.
