anyone get 89 premium gas (not super premium) instead of regular?
I've been getting premium ever since i had my car but i switched over to regular yesterday and i noticed a decrease in acceleration, nice intake noises at higher rpms, but my engine/intake is quieter than normal. I'm thinking about going back to premium, anything wrong with using premium in a d17 non v techengine?
I'm suprised that no one has said anything yet... especially forty.lol

It's vtec.
v-tech is a phone....

06 Si needs 93 because the k20 has high compression.
Oohh.. I didn't know the 06 Si had a k20 in it. Wow. When I looked in his engine, I THOUGHT it was a k20, but I wasn't sure.. >_>.

You can't mistake a k20, I think it is the only civic engine that has the exhaust manifold at the firewall and the intake manifold at the front of the bay.

So going off of what you said Mobsta you said that the higher the octane the harder it is for the fuel to combust. Is that why you need to use higher octane gas in higher compession engines? The gas will not prematurely explode hence cause causing a knock? Just wondering =)

If you're having a rough idle or acceleration issue, run some SeaFoam through the motor. Its recommeneded at every tune up ayways. Plus it kicks so much ***. I smoked the neighbors cat out of my place with it, but damn it soaked into the furniture pretty quick.

Well worth it.

i was using BP ultimate for a little while to see if there was a difference... it felt like it got better gas mileage and stuff, but when i switched back to reg and checked it, it was the same and it turns out it was all in my head. Only real differencewas the amount of money left in my wallet after a fill up

I run 93, because of the gsr motor. I run regular in all my other cars. That gsr motor cost me 3 grand, so spending the little extra on better fuel makes me feel better/safer than sorry.
