anyone get premium gas?
anyone get 89 premium gas (not super premium) instead of regular?
I've been getting premium ever since i had my car but i switched over to regular yesterday and i noticed a decrease in acceleration, nice intake noises at higher rpms, but my engine/intake is quieter than normal. I'm thinking about going back to premium, anything wrong with using premium in a d17 non v techengine?

RE: anyone get premium gas?
my opinion, premium and 93 does help in acceleration and overall performance when it comes to fuel. i have to run 93 in my hatch cuz i have 12.5/1 compression. if i run regular, it will spark knock and i dont want that. i think it helps running premium

Octane shouldn't affect your acceleration. If you think there is a change it is most likely in your head. All octane ratings are is how resistant the fuel is to detonation. The higher the number the harder it is to get the fuel to combust.

I gotta support what others have said in this thread...and what's been said regarding this topic, many, many times. If you are running an engine with stock compression ratio, buy and burn whatever the manual tells you as far as octane rating goes. If you go with a higher octane (more money), then you've fallen victim to the oil industry B.S., and they're laughing all the way to the bank!
