Default 1981 honda

ive got a 1981 honda civic1500cc my question is if the timming belt broke is this an interference motor or non enterference motor

I'm not sure, but my bet is that it's an interference motor, just like most (if not all) other Honda engines.

Assume the worst, that way if something bad happened, then you were ready and expecting it. If nothing bad happened, then the outcome was better than you expected.

That's my personal outlook on life too, btw.

Just slap a new belt on and see if it starts up OK. That's really the quickest way to tell if there's damage. On those cars you don't even need to remove a motor mount to change the timing belt.
