Which zc there is a dohc zc and a sohc zc. I asuume you are speaking of the dohc one being you compared it to the a1. The DOHC D series aftermarket sucks not by way of the bottom end but by way of the head, cams, valves, retainers, etc. I myself has allways wanted to get a dohc d series head and do a reverse mini me on my jdm d15b but have not got around to it.

 

so i can take my dohc d16a1 head and bolt it to my d15b2 what difference does that make and is it better than a d16a1 and yes im speacking of a dohc not sohc

the thing about the ZC is it is a direct drop in for almost every 4g civic. its an easy swap and its CHEAP.

jdm d15b is a good way to go too but theyr eharder to come by.

 

DOHC ZC's make more power than A1's and bolt right into EF's. That's why I recommend them. They're also badass boost engines.

Good luck doing a SOHC->DOHC head swap. And I'm not even being sarcastic.
