Default possible oil problem???

i've got a '95 civic ex turbo with upgraded internals & am new to the game. i had to replace my oil pan the other day...stripped out the oil pan. replaced the oil pan with another stock pan (had to modifyit for the turbo) ever since then...a couple of my buddies say the motor sounds like there's no oil in it. i've checked oil pressure & it's okay. i've checked the level & it to is okay. i've removed the oil cap (with car running) & looked inside the valve cover & there seems to be oil up there, too. i did notice that when i replaced the oil filter...there didn't seem to be the normal amount of oil coming out of the oil filter as with my '02 civic. the car is running the same as it did before i replaced the oil pan. so my question is...do i need to be concerned or are my friends just freaking me out???

thanks for the input...

Is the amount of oil that is coming out of the pan the same? Oil is definatly important, especially in a turboed car. Maybe you should try getting a magnetic drain plug, if your low oil then there might be metal rubbing on metal which is gonna give you some shavings in the oil. The plug will pickup the shavings, if you see shavings than you know that you got a problem. I would think that if you have oil pressure and a good level and aren't losing any oil, then you should be ok.

That i don't know about, Pete should know however. I would think that you would need extra oil to fill the lines and the turbo but i've never played with turbos before.

no you shouldnt overfill it. when you installed the turbo, you drilled a hole above the oil level for the turbo oil return line right? if you fill it too far above the level it will screw with that.
