if there was a quick and easy way to increase hp and torque, none of us would need this forum! LOL! plus you won't beat a 5.0 with a stocker and cat-back with a heavy *** 02 model. so your just going to have to swallow your pride and lose. sorry, but that's how it is.

On Board Diagnostics, it's your Check Engine system. OBD2 is more restrictive in what they allow. OBD1 allows you to chip your ECU.

HAHA no sorry... switching to OBD1 without any serious modification will get you nowhere, except a failing test on emissions. With a 7th gen you're best off going I/H/E and stopping. Beating a 5.0L mustang would take literally 5K+.

all these are good ideas for a little jump, however in order to beat 5.0's you will need to spend at least a few grand and since you're wanting to do a swap, i suggest just save up and do that. but if you want to beef up what you already have then I/H/E are the basics then cam and intake mani along with tb, then upgrade ecu chip, a good tune, then turbo and stand alone fuel management. oh and new pistons/rods. its all up to how much you want to spend in the end. so good luck with whichever you choose.
