Default Oil and Gas Additives

My daughter drives a 97 Civic EX w/103K miles. She mainly putts around FSU at Tallahassee, FL w/ longest drive back to Jacksonville. It is beginning to use a little oil, maybe 2 qts. in 5K miles. She ran oil low to bottom of dip stick one time and engine has always been noisey since. I belong to a Chev. S10 Forum and many in that forum recommend and swear by Lucas oil and gas additives. Have you used them and what kind or results did you have? Thanks.

What weight is the oil?, you may have to switch to a 10w. What oil does she use now? Far as lucas oil goes, I dont have personal experience with it, but I do believe that its one of the best. Also, Royal Purple is top of the line when it comes to oils, but I dont think that civic will really need it.

If it's using oil it needs rings...
the oil seal rings at the bottom of the piston wear
and allow oil past them. does it smoke at all?
If the oil is too thin some will blow out.
need mo' info
