YEAH, I LIKE TYPING IN CAPS TOO, AND I ALSO POST ON MYSPACE AND AIM AND DO THE SAME THING..........just joking. seriously stop it, and you're only 16, and you think you can turn pro (sigh), just a reality check, you aren't as good as a driver as you think. i say you need a geo metro.

Yeah, kid... not to be an *** or anything, but you need a serious reality check. You've been driving (legally) for less than a year... pro drag racers have been driving for 20 years... there's a huge difference in skill. Personally, I think you should learn to drive with a stock civic.
There's two problems with starting on a fast car
1) the car is carrying the burden of work; you're not developing skills as much as you are relying on the car's ability.
2) you're honestly probably going to wreck (with that wonderful "I wanna go fast" mentality) and hurt yourself or someone else.
But I'm sure you're not going to listen to me (I'm 18, so I can remember very clearly that "they don't know what they're talking about, that's not going to happen to me" mentality.... hell, I fell victim to it last year with buying my bike)
Just be careful out there.

No no, let him buy the K20
haha
why don't you go get your self some 'spray' too, haha
yea, for 16, why don't you come into reality and stop watchin the fast and the furious everynight before bed time
do some real research on engine, modifications, etc.
you'll benifit from it ALOT

figured it was worth a try
not that he's going to listen to a word of it...
and hopefully the mother can at least enjoy an open-casket viewing if the kid does figure out how to make the car faster.

Although we all appreciate the fact that you are on here to lean more about Civics, the motors, and the way they work, I think you should learn how to handle a car before you go putting money into it. I also think if you are looking at going fast, you are going to end up with a couple tickets. we have all been there. I would save your money to get your car out of the impound yard, and forget about the engine for now. Do your homework, and research everything before spending your money. Consider things like what are my future plans for the car, How long am i planning on keeping it, and if i sell it again what am i going to get for it if i do swap the motor out. Will it pass emissions in your state with a motor swap? Think it through, and then get back to us. Good luck, and take some of the advice on here. These guys have been around for a few years.

He didn't ask for criticism about his ability to drive, he just asked questions about a civic.
I can totally agree with you guys though, I'm 18 and i've been driving for about a year and a half.
Just don't street race, or be stupid.
