Default How can I tell with no tachometer??

Hi all,
I have a new 05 VP with the stock engine (115 HP I think), and this vehicle has no tach on it even though its a standard.
My question is: Does anyone have a chart or something that shows me what speed each gear gets to redline or like close to it, like too close for comfort? I noticed that the engine can get pretty high up but I'm wondering how high is too high!
For instance there are some hills here where I am forced to downshift at 80 down to 4th gear to keep up speed, and the engine revvs pretty well. But there's no way for me to tell what's too high!

Can anyone help me find a chart that says how fast is too fast in each gear?

Thanks!

You can just swap the gauge cluster from a car with a tach

Do you have the owners manual? My owner's manual has the numbers for my engine... yours might be in there too.

Well well well because it's brand new! I don't want to swap out stuff like that yet, do I?

I'll check the manual.. I don't remember it being in there but I could be wrong..

installing a tachometer doesn't involve swaping anything out ok. you buy a tach, and simply install it on the dash or where ever you're pleased with it.

if you really don't want to install an aftermarket tach (which like these guys said, is a fairly easy job), just go by sound. If your engine is screaming and sounds like its going to explode, let off the gas, or shift

i recommend getting a tach

experiment. shift when you stop feeling it pulling. you'll find optimum shift points quickly that way.
