Head Studs Necessary

Do i need a D16Z6 head stud kit to put that head on a D16Y8 block. 3 honda places told me i didn't but i thought that this place told me i did. finally doing my build!!!!!!!!

it is good practice to replace the head studs when using stock honda ones. get arp ones because they are reusablre.

and strong as crap too. Stock headstuds allow head lift after 10psi......arps prevent it.......that says a lot.

you can use the originals, they will bolt the head to the block, however, it is unwise to do so... at your own risk, is what i think everyone will say..,

people replace headstuds when they boost so they dont blow their head off!

Its not 100% necessary, but its only like 90 bucks....Personally Id just to it so ud never have to worry about it. I could understand if it were like 500$ or something.....but its under 100 bones man.

yeah i just don't have the time to order them. im in california on vacation and am having a friend take the car in tomorrow. can i do a cam gear sometime after the install? this just happened too soon and i wasn't prepared for the rush.

having it done at a great honda place in minnesota and im doing a D16Z6 PNP head, 3 angle valve job with a stage 1 cam. With a port matched IM with a 62mm prelude throttlebody. hopefully should make some good midrange power, and some stronger VTEC.
