engine swap
i now have a 1993 civic DX, well i was driving a 1998 Grand prix GTP, The civic is slow! i bought it for the gas mileage and now i see the potential for it to be a formitable street car. now i have decided to sell my GP and drop an engine in the civic along w/ a new suspension and 16" wheels i am gonna keep the body relatively stock and keep the engine pretty quiet too beacuse i am not a big ricer (or at least the steirotype of the term). but any way i am thinkin about doing a k-20 swap, that engine would provide for alot of fun but i am a big far of awd and rwd setups, has anyone ever seen a EVO, STi, or talon awd engine and drivetrain drop in a civic, i was also looking at small block v8s (now before all you hard core honda tuners post nasty things about how thats just wrong, think of the possibility of that power into such a light car), now if i do that ill be finding a corvette tranny that will be rear mounted for better weight dist.
Suggestions, comments, possible step by steps?

RE: engine swap
the engine bay is much to small for an H style engine or a V style engine without modification. but ive seen some chevy small block v8s in civics before and they are damn fast. its just not the work IMO. as far as i know...the k20 goes into your car fairly nicely with some modification and a lot of wiring changes.
personally...im in the market for a car like yours and im going with teh B18C1. it kinda depends on your goals for what you want to get. post those up and we'll help you from there.

RE: engine swap
You sound like a power junkie, so Ill say if youve got the scratch, go with a K20. with a Toda head package and a set of individual TBs, it will be putting down damn near as much WHP as a lot of V-8s. high 200s is surprisingly easy.

RE: engine swap
well i am a bit of a power junkie but i am building this car more for auto cross events, but i would love to lay down some good numbers for 0-60 and 1/4 mile, i used to have a 94 trans am w/ 450 rwhp, and well i love that feeling of being sucked to the seat but i also love being glued to the corners. I was able to drive my uncles 03 STi at a track in NC for a time trial and wow!!! so i am looking to be as light as possible for cornering but also being able to lay down some power. So it is of my understanding a k20 or b18 would be my best bet
