Default bulletproof my engine

Ok well I have my eg hatch and I want to swap a gsr motor into it. I also want to do some bottom end work. (ie. sleeved, pistons, rods, etc.) I am planning on running a turbo later and want low compression. I'm also going to get skunk2 turbo cams, retainers, spirngs etc.

What I need from you guys is suggestions on what lower end and head work I should do. I'm thinking either crower or golden eagle bottom end. I'm gonna have about 10-12 grand to spend on the motor, fuel, turbo, etc.

get some JE pistons, put them on some good forged rods, new rings, and sleeve that block. then have it bored to a 2.0l. run that with some SS valves, S2 valvesprings, and save the money on the cams and just use the stock intake cam with a type r exhaust cam. then drop the dough on an AEM standalone and a great tune on a dyno.

Uhmmm.....for the real nooBs here....it's like your almost speaking english..LOL Do you happen to have part numbers on some of these items so that we know we are getting the right things? I mean if you have it sleaved and bored....what size piston fits? what bore does it have to be to make 2.0l? I'm curious cause I plan to run the little 1.5 into the ground and transplant his bigger (and rebuilt) brother into his skin. I figure I can save up for a while and do it right.

your machine shop that does the sleeving should be able to help you out. i think its 84mm bore. any bigger and youll have all sorts of head gasket problems.

the crower stroker for the gsr is 2.2l and with AEBS sleves you could practically run jet feul. cunningham makes titanium rods if you wanna get even stronger than the stroker rods (though i believe the crower stroker kit comes with 4340 steel rods)

ok so i guess get the crower stroker kit and skunk 2 valves and retainers and a aem ecu.

my questions are about the stroker kit is what size crank 92mm or 95?
also do you think if i sent my block to like golden eagle to get sleeved do you think they could install the stroker kit also? or should i try benson preformance machine?

check it

thats for the crower stroker kits

and i know golden eagle will bore out your block for your stroker if you send the crank, rods, and pistons with the block

I'd bore it before I'd stroke it. I know stroking is easier, but it also has a tendency to make your internals less stable.

Oooh. Manley... Good call. But it sounds like you're on the right track. Just don't forget to get it re-balanced...
