with 14 to 1 you would need a good 110 to 120+octane and that would be on a crazy good tune and with a engine running that much compression it would be so finiky as far as everything from humidity to elevation. It is hard to get over around 230 to 235whp on a streetable B series engine.

lol, I dont think I will be going for such high numbers, Im more set on 160 if possible and to have it a good street/everyday driver. Im also looking at the b16c 1st gen I think, its a complete swap for me including trans, ecu and such for 1200. What do you think labor would cost to install it? (these are canadian dollars, but since theres not a huge difference in the US/Can dollar right now, you can get the idea) Is 1200 too much?

You mean B16A? $1,200 is great for the whole thing. And if your looking for only 160hp then the B16 is a good engine. With bolt -ons you should have no prob at all. But the torque will be ****.

by the by on a 14:1 compression motor you usually have to run a octane rating of 110, 120 would be pure overkill, like when you get an old car thats supposed to run on reg. unleaded and people run premium and say it runs better and whatnot. Plus 120 octane gas is REALLY expensive, and im pretty sure they dont make it unleaded. Where they make 110 unleaded but its about like 6 dollars or more a gallon where you can find 110 octane LEADED at 5.50 or less at some gas stations and if its readily available you can get it down to 4 dollars a gallon. The problem with leaded is its NOT street legal to burn in a vehicle on roads. So if you get busted you are in trouble, not likely, but all racefuel burns with an impecably different smell than anything else.
