Well, a B16 head is VTEC...

The B18A is half of an LS/VTEC engine. The other half is most commonly a B16A head (though there is more involved than just bolting a new head on...)

dont do it. the ls block isnt balanced as well as a vtec engine and wont hold up to high revs for long. also, the ls block doesnt have the piston squirters and the main girdle of the vtecs. its just not as compatable as everyone thinks. and ls/vtecs are notorious for having problems holding onto their oil.
