well of course this didnt fix my oil leak, so im assuming its the rear main seal? is this hard to do and is this something i can do with basic hand tools and a floor jack? i also noticed what i thought was oil on the bottom of my tranny, but its smells clean. is my tranny leaking too?

Keep us posted how it turns out. I just bought a 95 and have the same problem. Mine has alot more miles, so I'm debating wether or not I should fix the leak or replace the motor.

if oil is leaking in a place that would cause oil to drip on the side or top of the tranny, it is possible for it the run down to the underside of the tranny even though it would be going "upside-down," so to speak.

since its a liquid it has the ability to run down something to the point where its hanging from the underside of something.
