D16Y5 block with D16Y8 head??
I didn't see anything in the forums about this specifically so i figured i'd just ask. has anyone in here swapped an EX head onto an HX block before? i've read (on another forum) that people have but the info was just a bit sketchy in terms of what will bolt right up and what needs to be changed. obviously the ecu has to be changed along with the intake manifold and primary o2 sensor but i'm at a loss beyond that.

Nothing else really need to be changed except for the ECU, and the head itself. Vtec wiring is already there.
You can probably leave the stock manifold on there, but I suggest getting EX fuel injectors since the stock HX injectors are 180cc (I think. double check first) and the stock EX injectors are 240cc. The ECU needs to have the correct injectors in order to run correctly. It just may be easier to get the EX manifold and avoid any hassles.

d16y5-d16y8 issues
Hey man so i did a d16y8 head swap on my 96 honda civic HX trim M/T (d16y5 block and harness) ive realized that i need the ex p2p manual tranny ECU and the OBD2B to OBD2A harness converter and the intake manifold with the injectors as well. Im also aware that I need the ex intake manifold is because of the flow issues due to me using the y5 ecu and running into EGR flow issues and the emissions monitor being not ready because of that i have a few questions in regards to engine harness conversions if there are any along with sensor placements. as far as sensors go ive seen that some people mentioned that i would need a knock sensor and to configure my (d16y5 harness) secondary downstream O2 sensor (4 wire) into a 2 wire connection for the knock sensor. Is that going to work? and are the sensor plugs and placements on the p2p ex intake manifold going to be direct fit to y5 harness plugs. if you or anyone else who sees this and have some answers just let me know or DM me. thanks a million
