What to do when Swapping from a D15B7 to the D16 series
I have a 95 Civic DX 4 door with a D15B7 motor and the original transmission. Im thinking about buying a complete motor to do a swap with tranny. I found a motor with a D16A2 (Its from a CRX) block and a mini-me VTEC conversion so it has the D16Z6 cylinder head. Its bolted to a 99 EX transmission. I know my car is OBD I and I was wondering what I’m looking forward to with this swap. What will I need, will my harnesses from my old motor fit this new one, if not how much wiring is there and is it worth it as it is my daily driver (basically is it a weekend job if I work my *** off on the car). Also will I need new shift linkage from the new EX transmission because Id rather have the shorter gear ratios then my DX tranny. How about motor mounts as well? Anyway I asking how difficult that this swap my be and will everything bolt right in or will I need to test my wiring skills and will I need to hit the junk yard. What parts will I need if I need them? I'm most concerned with the wiring issue as you can tell.

you are gonna need the ecu if you want the vtec option and can convert your harness to a vtec harness or you can just get the whole wiring harness.. you could probably have the engine out and the new one back in in one day and then use the next day to wire everything up and get everything back hooked up...
