Default H22A in a civic??

Just wondering if anyone here has done a H22A swap in there civic. If so post comments on pro's and con's. Also what you used for swap, ie. ecu, wiring harness, anything else unexpected.
Thx

unless you plan on making your Civic a full drag car, i would not suggest putting an H22a in it. its just not practical at all for daily driving. you will have to do ALOT of custom fabrication to get it in there if you do plan on putting it in there.

Well supposedly Hasport has motor mounts for a pretty easy swap, for a 2000 civic, maybe just a bit of hammering on the frame for crank pulley clearance . And yeah it's not a daily driver but I don't think that would be a concern. That's like saying a prelude is only for racing.

yeah but a Prelude and a Civic are 2 different chassis. the Prelude/Accord chassis is made to hold the H22a with ease because they are easily able to support the weight and all performance aspects of that motor where-as the Civic/Integra chassis are not. IMHO putting an H22a is not a practical swap. be prepared for headaches, shelling out lots of money and alot of time. good luck if you do it.

a b-series swap is just too much easier to do than an h swap. not to say the h is too hard though. just remember, a b-series weighs 100lbs more than a d, and an h-series weighs 85lbs more than a b. so everyone saying the h22 is too heavy for a civic is exagerating. adding a turbo kit to a b-series makes it outweigh the h22. just a few points to ponder....

it all depends on you as the driver. there is a turbo h22 being daily driven here and see's the drag strip most every weekend. as far as the install, ive done one on a 90 civic hatch. being there is no mount kit it took about a week to get the engine situated into the bay with the custom mounts. the weight of the engine is really no biggie if you know how to work with spring rates, just go with a heavier one. but how heavy depends on your cars intended use as well as set up. i can vouch for the headaches too. but being it was my first try there was bound to be some problems. the biggest problem i had was the valve cover hitting the hood upon acceleration. poly inserts help to cure that. IMO the swap is a great swap if you want nice hp and tq #'s yet being able to keep the drivetrain dependable unlike having a built engine. how ever the left over room under the hood makes for trouble bolting on new toys.
