Default Engine swap in my civic? Noob needs help!

Is there any point trying to tune the stock D15B8 in my civic? I just can't seem to wrap my head around getting any decent healthy horsepower out of a 70hp 85 ft-lbs engine. So, i was at http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/5gtech.html and they suggested several motors for a 5th gen swap, the B18C1 being the most appealing. The del-sol v-tec, B16A3 was also suggested, as well as the B18A1 non-v-tec engine. Im on a slightly tight budget (being only 15) and rebuilding is an option for me. Would investing in a blown engine be wise, or would the internals and rebuild cost more than the engine itself. I just really dont know what to do, so any opinions or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I suggest to swap in a d16z6. Has a lot of aftermarket parts for it and has a nice amount of power plus it shouldnt be to expensive.

yea if your really tight on money then go with the d16z6 which you can build up as you go and down the road make it a Super D (turbo D series)

if you got the money to do it the car would be sick fast with the B18C1 in it or EVEN faster if you go ALL out and do a K20 or K24 swap
