If that's the amount of power you want, then definitely get a D. You can turbo on stock internals up to about 200-220WHP. If you want to go a little past that, just build the bottom end.

where are you guys getting your engines? is there a site im missing here or are you getting them from your local junk yards?

personally i wouldnt push no more than 200whp out of a d-series on stock internals, i mean you CAN go more but depending on driving habits and tuning d-series motors wont last very long you will surely blow something boosting the poor lil motor. but if you want to build the bottom i recommend doing the vitara piston route.

i know you guys say that d is better i have a d16 plan on turbocharging it on stock internals but can the transmission handle it and drive axles also that is what i'm worried about.

You'll probably be fine.
To help with wheel hop, get some polyurethane motor mount inserts. That should keep you from having many problems.

For future reference, D's aren't really better for really high HP, but they are really the best value engine because for as much money as a swap you can build the D you have and turbo it, and make a lot more power.

buy a cheap D, build it, boost it, take your time and find all the right parts, do it once right, and you'll be killing it
