WHAT IS A VTEC CONTROLLER??????

RE: WHAT IS A VTEC CONTROLLER??????
I haven't gotten too much info on that yet, but if I remember correctly a v-tec controller let's you choose when the v-tec module is engaged. In another words, say your v-tec kicks in at 4500 rpm, well with a controller you can make it kick in at say 3500. Correct me if I am wrong guys, and sorry I don't know too much about them. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard that they can cause premature failure of the v-tec solenoid because it causes it to be used more and more. Hope this helps.

Yes, VTEC controller does controll the engagment point. HOWEVER, only an idiot would set a VTEC point at 3000k. The whole point of VTEC is to allow extra air into the cylinders at higher RPM's. Anything below 5200 or 5300 is not great for motor, and you will be losing performance.

Hey rd, yeah, im not up to par with the new Si yet, but i do believe VTEC engagment poing is 6000 or 6100. Either way, with a 8k redline, thats almost 2k in VTEC. Thats a lot man, i wouldent really push your luck. Its engaging so early already, i think if you lowered it you would lose some power. If I were you, i wouldent mess with it, enjoy you 11:1 compressin and 2000 RPM's of bliss.
