ok so i decided to find my ecu, and when i found it it had a decal on it that says j-k-tuning.com on it, so i got curiese(i cant spell for beans ,lol) and i opend it up and noticed one of the chip things said SST on it and a bunch of numbers and such, so now im wondering if my car is tuned or if that is a stock chip? if any one could tell me that would be f'n great. thanks guys. o ill try n take a pic of it 4 u guys if i can find my cable to my cam.

 

yea your ecu is chipped, the map on the sst chip is mostlikly a custom one, you can tell weather or not it is running the custom map by looking to see if jummper J1 is connected, it is right above the sst chip, if it is connected it means it is running the custom map, if it is gone, or cut, it is running the stock map.

 

what is the jummper j1? sorry no idea what it is, would it be a wire or another chip?

i went and took a pic of my ecu i dont kno if you can really see anything as i stink with a camera, lol
but i saw this wire (more like a piece of metal that was loopd)that was abovethe chip.

sorry, i should have specified, here is a picture on how to chip an ecu, if you look at step 3, it says install J1, it is usually just a wire, although sometimes it is a jumper block.

the only kinda wire i see is this metel wire that is loopd like a rainbow ,lol it kinda looks like this

yup, that means that you are running the custom map, it could be good it could be bad, is your car modified at all? and does it run ok?
