isn't P30 for a B16a2, which is VTEC and OBD2? Where did you get your ECU from?

hi, maybe around here it doesn't work like that.. i'm from portugal, p30 ecus came in b16a2 civics from years 92 to 95 and are OBD1.Civics from 96 to 98 with b16a2 engine came with P2T ecu and OBD2A plugs, which is not tuneable, i mean, it is tuneable but very hard, so i got myself some conversion harness, OBD2A to OBD1, replacing the stock ecu, P2T, for a P30, tuneable ecu. the P30 ecu that i have came from a 92 civic. btw, p30 and p2t are both for dohc vtec engines. But as said, it gives me an error, and i don't know why, it seems like everything on the conversion harness is ok.does any one know why?thanks for your time.

hi,just found out what i have to do, on a b16 engine there are 2 vtec sensors, one opening the vtec oil pressure valve, and another that reads that vtec oil pressure, if there is no oil pressure on the vtec circuit, it won't engage! so.. all i have to do isshunt wire A4 with D6 inside the P30 ecu.hope this helps anyone!thanks!

Glad you figured it out, I was going to say that some VTEC engines from overseas don't have the pressure switch.

don't know if all do, but mine has..i'm studying in a school far from my hometown, so i forgot my soldering iron back home, and this is how i figured it out.. i had a couple of tools so.. i really had to do this to see if it worked..
heated up the screw driverand melted some welding tin onthe pins in the ecu i wanted to weld.. turned out to be very cool.. this is how it turned.. just tried the ecu and it works real fine! seems like i going back home on weekend with a new ecu and vtec all the way!!! c ya soon!
