RE: Engine kicks out at 119, anyway to bypass speed setting????
Cool, thanks 97civicturbo. Definetly going to look into p28 swap. Hey remington, tires aren't a problem. There wide, i'm pretty sure its 7.8, but don't quote me on that. I have a 4.25 drop on it now. But I have been looking into swapping the shocks for neuspeed lowering shocks. Sound good? Also, front and rear sway bar, good, bad? I am getting ready to put in my new polyurethane bushing kit that I got off jegs, so should tighten me up a bit. Any one else got any ideas. Thanks agin civicturbo.

WOrk on the suspension and youll be fine. Just watch it. Civics can be safe cars but at speeds like that, you'll BE a civic if something goes wrong.

heheh, I just had to reply to this one...
All I would say about doing such speeds is just make sure you know the roads (which I'm presuming you do if it's a regular commute), and that it is suitable to do so - I will openly admit to speeding during the early hours, simply because there is nobody else on the roads. I agree with you - if you have an accident at that time in the morning, it's unlikely you will take anybody else out with you.
However, a friend of mine was actually killed in a 91-95 model Civic on a main road on his way to work early in the morning. He had just turned 18 and had bought a 1.4i 3dr model. He slid off the road and kissed a tree, shall we say. The front end including both front fenders was torn from the rest of the car, leaving the cockpit open at the front. For this to happen it was down to one of two things - either the car was a cut-and-shut jobbie, or the speed on impact was pretty damn high. Knowing the lad himself, I'm guessing it was most likely the latter. This wouldnt have happened it he had chosen to do these speeds in a suitable place though. There was no other traffic on the road at the time, but its a pretty urban road with lots of parked cars either side. He obviously paid the ultimate price.
So like I say, if youre gonna do high speeds, just please make sure its a decent sized road to begin with. I'm assuming you are American (you guys have bigger carriageways than us here in the UK) so I'd imagine its safer to do so over there anyway.
Take it easy...

I just find it odd that you're going well over any posted speed limit in the country, and yet, I checked the weather for Florence, KY and it is currently 15*! Now that means at least icy conditions (if not snow), right? You got ice skates on that car of yours? Keep it on the track!!!

obd1 conversion and/or uberdata, or hondata but I suggest you slow down because no matter how good you know the road and how safe you think it is, afterall it is a public road meaning a number of things could change without notice.

97 dx stock that i drive (except for an aftermarket air intake) can hit about 110, i havent gone faster but it is quite a rush. Im thinking it cant go any faster than that. Anyone willing to challenge my arguement?
