Default Car in neutral??

Hey everyone this is my first post!!!

I have a Civic 03' Ex and I have gotten into the habit of putting the car into neutral when I know I will be stopped for more than 30 seconds. I alos shift into neutral when going downhill then straight.

So I guess my question is, is it bad to put it into neutral? Like for the brakes and engine?

Thank I hope to be an active member in this forum.

no it i will not harm the brakes nor the engine. your fine, i've done the same thing for the last 3years and still doing it. I do it alot going down hill, just think of it as a gas saver.
