alarm battery backup? dumb question
Maybe this has been answered somewhere, I did look.
I'm trying to become more familiar with my car so I've been reading random parts of my Haynes manual. I've noticed that the directions for almost everything start with "disconnect the negative terminal of the battery." If I disconnect the battery will I need to have my alarm reporgrammed? or does it stay charged (or something) for a while? it is a Viper 800 HF alarm.
I'm asking because the one time I left my lights on for 8 hours and drained the car battery, I had to take my car in to get the alarm reprogrammed, and I had to go back 3 times for them to get it right. it was a pain.
Does anyone know?

RE: alarm battery backup? dumb question
Yeah, thats about right. Every year alarm systems are updated. Its so crazy and so hard to keep up with them, ie... how to reprogram remotes and reprogram options. Thats prob why they had problems with yours.
