Default 93 Civic EX Gas Mileage

I have a 93 civic ex 2-dr 5-speed...1.6 vtec and I usually get around 290-320 miles out of a tank of gas...how many miles do you think that I should be getting out of this car on a tank of gas? I put a new denso o2 sensor in, new fuel filter...new bosch platinum +4 plugs....still need to do the spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor button. Also, when i fill up, drive home from work which is about 30 miles and park the car, the guage will read on full...then i come out to go to work the bext day and it will read btw full and 1/2...like around 3/4 tank or so. Is this normal? Thanks everyone for helping me understand this a little better.

I do the standard stuff, baby my accelerator, keep up with my tire pressure, etc, and I make 270-290 on good tanks. Less if I was late a day and needed to fly, or if I got stuck in some bad traffic. I do mostly city driving.

Not sure what up with your fuel gauge. Mine usually goes up a bit after I park it. It will also change as I accelerate and deccelerate.

I'm getting around 25 mpg for city driving, and for freeway (with no traffic at all) i get 35 mpg.
I think I get around 260 miles on full tank.
I like to accelerate quick so that could be why I'm not getting as good gas milage.

That doesn't happen to me when I park, but everytime I turn right my gauge will drop a bit and go up when i turn left.. that also happens when i acclerate and stop too

i know the needle drops durung turns and hard acceleration. the gas in the tank sloshes around and that causes the needle to drop. i typically get 290-320 mph on a tank of gas. that's both city and freway driving. i have a 98' ex civic.

stock my civic averaged 330-360 miles to a tank if i drove below 80 mph. now with the z6 my fuel economy increased a bit, but i need to give it a good tune up to get an average on it now

Seems like there's something wrong with my car.
I have D16z6 engine. it's a 94 ex coupe.
the tire pressure is right. i have a cat-back exhaust and i changed the air filter to a cone one.

I know what it is. You have stock 4-1 headers. I found that (on an all stock Civic Dx, 35mpg city and 40mpg highway) once I installed the common Stainless Steel Cat-back exhaust, it effected the powerband of my motor, robbed low to mid range torque significantly. I found that I was getting a drop in fuel economy, it dropped to about 23 city and 27 highway, which is very poor.

Quite simply, I installed a stainless 4-2-1 headers, I gained some much needed low to mid range torque, that altered fuel economy, I remember its been a lot better than when I just had Cat-back connecting to stock headers, but a little less than when my car's stock exhaust was in its prime. With the cat-back exhaust, and stock catalytic converter connecting to 4-2-1 headers, on average I get 33-36mpg city and 35-38mpg highway, depending on how I accelerate.

I added a cold air intake, now I get 2-4mpg more than stock air-box.

Next I will do MSD Ignition.... its like amplifier for your sound system, but for your engine's ignition gives it addtional spark power, the multi-pulse ignition ignites any excess fuel that would normally not be spent. which will boost fuel economy.

I wonder sometimes, why aren't the car manufacturers installing any of these great modifications(which would help the people, not big oil) onto their own vehicles, as stock, to increase energy conservation.
